LG Electronics Fair Stand CES 2019 – LG OLED Signage Falls Attractor
At the CES 2019 trade fair in Las Vegas, USA, 258 LG OLED digital signage displays served as a large-scale, falls-structured screen, depicting several natural phenomena, which aimed at visualising the versatile possibilities offered by LG display technology. The fair stand presented several exciting scenes including “dives” into a mystic desert, the grandness of the trees of a forest and the world’s largest wave, as well as mesmerising stars in the galaxy and hypnotic Chinese wish lanterns. A walk-through path was made for the audience to walk inside the “falls”, allowing the visitors to have a deep immersive experience by making them feel like they were truly in nature in this moment. This experience was made possible by the versatile curved OLED panel shapes, which were synchronised with the contents to create a new dimension, and in combination with the overwhelmingly wide scale of the screen formation, as well as a Dolby Atmos surround sound system.
Statement by the Jury
The trade fair presentation of LG at CES 2019 offered entertainment at a high level. This project is impressive in its innovative approach of using the capabilities of the LG OLED display technology for staging an intense experience of nature in a manifold manner. The sheer scale and variety of the presentations are simply fascinating, as well as the possibilities of application seem to be almost unlimited.
