Exhibition Catalogue
New Wave Movement
The New Wave Movement of the 1960s to 1980s was chosen as the subject of an exhibition catalogue and accompanying material. A critical analysis describes the phenomenon in typography where punk-influenced designers such as Wolfgang Weingart or Dan Friedman began to break with handed-down conventions, such as the strictly grid-based arrangement of font. With the aim of interpreting this movement from a contemporary perspective, the catalogue examines the design tools of that era and presents them in a fittingly modern layout.
