Sustainable Packaging
Grace of Waste
This packaging product has been developed in view of the fact that more and more plastic waste ends up in our oceans, where it collects to form large garbage patches. The design is inspired by the Japanese tradition of wrapping things in a cloth (furoshiki). This version of furoshiki, however, is made exclusively from reclaimed ocean plastic, using eco-friendly soya oil and water-based inks. To underpin the sustainable approach, the cloth’s stylish pattern illustrates the location of garbage patches in the oceans. With every gift, the information is passed on to a new recipient.
