Fonts For Freedom
In order to raise awareness of how many newspapers were banned around the world in 2018, the poster campaign “Fonts For Freedom” was created at the initiative of Reporters Without Borders. The underlying idea was to revive the house fonts of the newspapers banned. This was done by using the fonts for leading German dailies. They replaced their own house fonts on their front and media pages with Fonts for Freedom. Each edition thus became a symbol of the freedom of the press. In addition to posters, in particular the website reaches a large audience in order to raise awareness of the topic of press freedom.
