Travelling by caravan has its special attraction. It merges the sense of adventure with a familiar environment. The design of the Alphavan interprets this type of mobility by taking a new approach. Its lightweight interior design and materials allow for an overall weight below 3.5 tons. Therefore, it realises lower fuel consumption and improved driving dynamics. Another advantage is that this ensures the ability to drive the vehicle with a standard EU driver’s license. The clear design language of the Alphavan’s interior is impressive. Defining a new aesthetic for the interior design of such vehicles, it features rounded edges, flush-integrated mobile home technology and natural-looking colours and haptics. The Alphavan adopts smart home qualities through sophisticated digitisation capabilities, including internet connectivity, IoT services and smart home-style control via touchscreen and smartphone apps. In addition, the flexible room concept with integrated rear garage, FlexPort, can safely host both large sets of outdoor and sports equipment or, alternatively, an additional sleeping area. Sustainable electrical systems, such as a 210-Ah battery, a solar panel and induction cooking, make the Alphavan entirely gas-free.
Statement by the Jury
The Alphavan innovatively redefines both the design and the concept of campervans. It looks precisely designed down to the last detail and inspires with its functionality. The bright and clean-looking interior also appeals to younger target groups. The available space has been cleverly optimised. In addition, the Alphavan is also highly contemporary thanks to the wide range of options in using digital media and sustainable technologies.
