A Fantasy World of Handmade_The Art Handbook of Cultural Heritage
The Art Handbook of Cultural Heritage is a collection of twelve stories about Taiwan’s intangible cultural heritage preservers, also known as living national treasures. In vibrant comic style, each handbook introduces a living national treasure as well as the lesser-known crafts that support them, such as wood carvings, embroidery, silk tapestry, hand puppets and so on.
To make the handbook with warmth, it is printed manually with screen printing technique. This reflects the work of those twelve artisans documented in the cultural heritage handbook set and how their accomplishments were the result of meticulous hand by hand efforts accumulated over years.
As a symbol of ‘inheritance’, the handbook conveys to the future generations the original handicrafts and traditional craftsmanship that have been condensed over time.
