The MAN V12X represents a new generation of boat engines for the yacht sector. With 30 litres of displacement, it achieves 2,200 hp (1,618 kW). Despite the increase in power and extensive design improvements compared to the predecessor model, the dimensions and weight have remained almost the same. In addition, numerous other changes, from the coolant supply to the optimisation of the oil circulation system, were made to increase the service life of the V12 unit. The engine is optimised for dual-fuel operation – either with hydrogen or hybrid electrification. “The V12X is particularly impressive with its consistently applied sustainability strategy,” the jury concluded.
