Western-Style Building
The illustrations in this book tell the stories of eight historical houses in a Taiwanese village which were erected by people who worked abroad, earned their living there and built a prestigious home on the return to their native village. Western and oriental architectural styles and traditions converged. These drawings capture this mixture in detail. Supplemented by explanatory chapters on interiors, culture and history, the finely drawn illustrations pay, in a picturesque manner, tribute to a unique building style.
