It’s your turn, Leonov!

On 18 March 1965, during the Vostok 2 mission, Alexei Leonov became the first man to exit a spacecraft and walk in space. It was the beginning of a new era of space exploration. Reconstructing the historical moment in a series of 360-degree videos, this website visualises every step that Alexei Leonov took on his way from the spacecraft, through the airlock, to outer space. The video content is complemented by archival recordings, documentary footage and infographics in order to fully recreate the context of the events.
