Glyph of Herbal Medicine
Chinese characters are made up of various strokes similar to how herbal medicines comprise various ingredients. The three thread-sewn books provide an introduction to 108 ingredients used in herbal medicine and use their properties to create a complete set of Chinese words. The finely drawn illustrations show the structure of the ingredients. The font design is based on the roots of the plants. It incorporates the features, colours and uses of each ingredient to create “Glyph of Herbal Medicine”, where you can find the right cure by simply looking at the words.
