Emperor Maximilian I transformed Tyrol during his reign and left it changed after his death in 1519. This project spans a historical web across the region of the Alps and illustrates social life at the turn of the modern age in ten different locations. The app 1519 provides users with a historical on-site experience, audible and visible, and guides them to bygone yet still intact monumental structures. A narrative audio guide tells stories about the everyday lives of the residents at the time and draws a line from past to present: street art, animation and dance performances make historical traces contemporarily available.
