Designer profile
King George describes itself as a crazy creative agency and has 12 years of offbeat design solutions to show for it. Over that time, the “royal family” from Sint-Niklaas (BE) and Amsterdam (NL) has grown to 30 employees and has used all types of creative expression to produce fresh brandings, communication, both analogue and digital, as well as interior and event designs. “We think boldly, just like kings, act with sophistication, just like queens, battle against boredom, just like knights, and add a touch of magic, just like fairies.” Long live royal creativity!
Interview with King George
Red Dot: How did fair visitors respond to the interactive Unilin Panels trade fair stand?
King George: Every design-minded visitor likes to unleash their inner child to catch not a teddy bear but trends. By tossing a ball, they get to know the brand and samples of its products in a fun way. It’s a show, it’s gamification, it’s an experience - even for those who don’t know the brand.
It always takes courage to do something completely new. What arguments do you use to convince your clients to go off the beaten track?
Every King George client knows our penchant for madness and our urge to do things differently. In fact, that is why they come knocking on the kingdom’s door, because they want something innovative, a cutting edge. This was also true in the case of Unilin Panels as they were looking for a creative way to present their products. And don’t we all want some fun instead of yet another trade fair stand with the usual display of products and the usual samples offered? At King George, we know how to play!
