Christian Schwarmkrug

Christian Schwamkrug was Design Director and Deputy Managing Director of the Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See, Austria until 2022. The Studio is part of the Porsche Lifestyle Group, founded in 1972 by Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche in Stuttgart and later relocated to Zell am See in Austria. 

From 1987, Christian Schwamkrug was a member of the Porsche Design Studio design team and has been working for clients such as Grundig, Samsung, Bosch-Siemens, LG, Rollei. Many of his designs received Design Awards such as the “Compasso D ́Oro”, iF Award and Red Dot Design Award. 

After completing an industrial design education at the University of Wuppertal, he acquired the degree of Diplom-Designer. During his studies, he worked as a freelance designer for several design studios. As Design Director of the Porsche Design Studio, Christian Schwamkrug was in charge of developing and advising on all products sold under the Porsche Design brand as well as design developments for third party clients. Christian Schwamkrug was guest lecturer at the University of Arts in Hamburg and is an active member of design juries of international design awards. 

Since 2022, he has been working in the field of design consulting and product design based in Zell am See.
