Scars of Democracy

In order to take a strong stand for freedom of speech and expression, the STROKE Art Fair and the street artist Capo created an immersive online gallery based on large-scale watercolour portraits on handmade paper, titled “Scars of Democracy”. It is a courageous look at eight politicians, with their decisions and respective consequences affecting democracy tattooed onto their bodies – to show that actions have irrevocable consequences. Created to raise awareness for this issue, the site invites visitors to explore each motif backed up by articles and videos from trustworthy news sources proving each point made.
